The Cerebration of Operation and Maintenance Service Agreement for Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Plant between E&E and NT1PC

E&E Engineering and Service Co.,Ltd (E&E) and Nam Theun 1 Power Co.,Ltd (NT1PC) have celebrated of Operation and Maintenance Service Agreement for Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Plant on dated 02 November 2022 at Le Thatluang D’oR Boutique Hotel, Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR. In this regards, with the representative chaired by Mrs. Souksanh Phongphila, the Chairman of E&E Engineering and Service Co.,Ltd and Deputy Managing Director of EDL-Generation Public Company (CAO).

E&E Engineering and Service Company Limited was founded by two partners, EDL-GEN Operation and Maintenance Service Sole Co. Ltd. (EDL-Gen O&M) the subsidiary company of EDL- Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) and EGCO Engineering & Service Co. Ltd. (ESCO) , the leading of Thai’s power plant operation and maintenance services provider. The Company established on 15 November 2018, registered share capital of the Company is 8,000,000,000 Kip (1 Million USD) which 60% is owned by EDL-Gen O&M and 40% by ESCO. EDL-Gen O&M and ESCO have jointly set up the E&E Engineering and Service Company Limited for the purpose of providing Operational and maintenance to 650 MW Nam Theun1 hydroelectric power generation and to provide the various service to other power plants and industries in the Laos PDR. Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Project, total installed capacity 650 MW (520MW exports to EGAT, Thailand and 130MW exports to EDL, Lao PDR). This project location at Phonchaleun Village, Pakkading District, Borikhamxay Province, Lao PDR, owner by NT1PC. The project has started a construction and development total 07 years (2016 – 2022) and energy production by 2,480.9 GWh/year.

In 2021, E&E has official signed the Pre-Operation Service Agreement (Pre-COD period) with effective from 01 August 2021 – 13 August 2022 (COD). Then, E&E has continually the Operation and Maintenance Service Agreement for Operation Period in terms of 14 years with effective from 14 August 2022. The main scope of services are operation and PPA management, maintenance for hydropower plant and 500kV transmission lines from Nam Theun 1 HPP to 500 kV Nabong substation. Moreover, E&E has provide an engineering service which personal supply service to support TOR for major overhauls in Nam Theun 1 hydropower plants and other IPPs in Laos.
